We have been using this type of flies for many years, but we have always been looking for a suitable material to tie this very effective type of fly. With the arrival of MOP chenille, this problem was solved. MOP chenille perfectly imitates caddis cases, which in the original are made from small stones and mica, all of which can be found in MOP chenille. It is good to use a small trick at the end of tying, where the finished fly is heated over a heat source, which causes the MOP chenille to shrink and, if heated more, it also thins and strengthens. A great fly for moments when fish are searching specifically for this type of food.
