First the story of how I "met CDC", It is almost 50 years since Peter Vrablec, an incredible expert on feathers and other materials, came to us in Moravia for a "seminar", to introduce us to the use of feathers, and one of the points was the CDC feathers, which were unknown to us at the time.

Since then, these feathers have become one of the most important materials for tying flies. I first saw these mayflies with V-shaped wings at one of our most famous fly fishermen, Slávka Svobody, many years ago. The design in the picture is one of the variants of a very "old", fly called Red Spinner. It has proven very useful for us in the early evening swarming of mayflies not only in Bohemia, but also in Slovakia, Slovenia, and Scandinavia.
