First, the story of how I "met CDC." It was almost 50 years ago when Peter Vrablec, already an incredible expert in feathers and other materials at that time, came to Moravia for a "seminar" to introduce us primarily to the use of feathers, and one of the points was the then-unknown to us CDC feathers.

We tied these flies already 50 years ago when we discovered how great CDC is as a material. We tied it simply by winding several feathers onto the hook. Now the fly is tied in a modern way, where the CDC feathers are secured in a loop and wound onto the hook. This excellent fly is popular with all fish that take flies from the surface. We often also use this indispensable fly as a float when fishing with the fly-and-float method, for which we can also tie it using white feathers for better visibility.
